Port Philip Bay - Westernport – Bass straight - Portland
We launch at Patterson River into Port Phillip bay and can fish in many locations
depending on what’s biting inside the bay, our local catch consists of snapper,
whiting, gummy, flat head, salmon, garfish and calamari. ( from Sep – April )
Also in Port Philip Bay between (July – Oct ) are when large winter whiting and
huge calamari show up.
Westernport also produces snapper, gummy shark, whiting, elephant
fish, flat head, salmon, garfish and calamari ( from Sep – April )
Big gummys from ( jan to march)
Bass straight
From Cape Schank to Kilcunda in Bass Strait are homes to thresher sharks, bronze
whalers, blue shark, mako and the protected great whites. ( from Jan – April )
Portland produce some of the best southern blue fin and albacore tuna in
Australia ( from early Feb – late June).
